I wonna have a moan about blo**dy 0844 and 0845 numbers and alike. Why ?, when the entire UK population has mobiles and landlines with unlimited free calls to local, national and mobile numbers, do all these companies insist on having these stupid local rate non-geographical 08xx numbers ?. I know there are site to find land line alternatives and you can ring the "calling from overseas" +44 number but WTF ?. Drives me mad ;D Rant over ha ha ha ;D ;D

when you ring the 0844 (not sure about 0845) numbers, the company you are calling get a percentage rebate from their telephone providers, I think it is about 3 or 4% of the call cost

Yeah I was re-warned about that scam recently and it was also in our local rag but it reckoned it was a few hundred quid you get done for the second the call is answered
