whats the between centrs on th sv shock compared to 4lo lc? The distance between centres would be good (top to bottom) to know. Wondering whether it will go on my hybid that uses the VJ21 rear shock that has the same type of bottom fitting. Steve.

I think the SV shock is longer between the hole centres... yes m8 but would they be a direct bolt-on with no mods?i would like it to be longer to give the back end of my 4lo a bit of extra height.... can some 1 give me a measurment from centre of top holes to bottom holes on sv shock ? and if someone knows the between centres of standard 4lo shock? i know im not looking for much!!

jon,no i hav'nt got 1 yet m8.
lco, this is what jessy told me in his bike thread.
Scott, the sv650 shock is about 25mm longer than the std lc, you need to drill out the lower mount to 12m and the top is 10mm so you need a spacer10-12mm, I was lucky and found a spacer at work, then it just bolts in. you can pick them up cheap off ebay nearly new ones. Jessy

From what bare said these arent the best shocks ever made so if youve got a still good LC shock and just want a bit if height then maybe the plates are a simpler and cheaper way to go? If like me (and probably Scott too) you want a newer shock and the 'lift', then these are a cheap way forward.
Id still like to see a pic of one fitted... anyone know of a build that used one?

regards the shock think i am gunna give the sv650 shock ago,it gives a bit more raise at the rear end than the 125 as i've read in jessy's thread somewhere. Fill your boots. BUT I bought a virtually New 2008 one . Installed as a direct replacement (only drilled out the eyes to 13mm) and it frightened the bejesus out of me. It stayed on for 2 hours riding time. Tippy too high a CG feel and the thing has F*ck All hyd dampening. It's like riding a Pogo Stick. There IS reason SV owners discard the things within days of buying their new SV's Recent forensics(curiousity mainly) revealed that the crap SV shock has a stiffer spring but yet even LESS hyd dampening than my 30 yr OEM Yama LC shock !!. Cheap Chinese crap .

When I built the race LC i stuck a 125LC rear shock on to get me going with the intention of changing it as the season progressed. It's still on there. ;D No rear end issues at all, nicely damped and raised tthe rear end a tad. Matched up to the F2 front end rather well. Opinion from the ex LC racers is that it's difficult to inprove on and spending loads of money is a waste of time. It's not the rear shock that causes the LC handling issues I'm with Bare, I've ridden SV650's. The shock is shite, can't see it being any better when bolted into an LC That's why the SV forums are full of posts asking how to bolt GSXR/ZX6 shocks on ;D
