Just sent this to Mick Abbey and can't wait for his reply.
Hi Mick, Heard allot of good things about your work. I have an RD125LC barrel and head (non pv) I would like you to work some magic on. I run it with a Nikon chamber and would like you to match a tune to it. Nothing to severe, but were any improvement of factory can be made I would like it to be done. Just so it pulls nice and clean all the way to the red. I run a standard 10w id carb and open topped standard air box. It recently over heated due to head gasket failure and wondered if it is possible to convert to an O ring configuration? Also, I don't know what bore it is on, but can you set it up to run a single ring piston? Do you set the squish to match the tune and do you match cases and rebuild cranks? What do you do that is to do with reeds? So to summarise, I would like a quote for: Rebore and matched race piston. Head work with set squish for cool running. Reliable tune matched to cases to work with a Nikon. Reed/cage/inlet upgrade. Basically I want it to be up to the sort of spec the YZ motocrossers were at at that time.
Thanks very much for you time and hope to hear from you. Adam.
What do you guys think to him.

Yes, I also heard his pricing is very reasonable. I might give him a ring but I don't want to annoy him if he is busy

Right............... Rang Mick, As stated by Sean, top bloke and I understand he is now based in Harrogate so I can go down to his workshop to drop off the cylinder in person . He says he is currently working on 2 YPVS 500's (tuning and making pipes) so he is quite busy. How ever, he can 'fast road tune' my barrel for £100 and also modify my reed block to give some extra juice ;D. We discussed several other things and I have decided on a final set up. Standard air box and filter (snorkle removed) Carb dyno jetted Small reed spacer Mick's home made reeds's and block Mick's tune on barrel Nikon chamber and can Everything els left standard. He says it could see 20bhp at the rear wheel Having to sell lots of toys for this ;D Adam

Think he was under the impression that they took that '21 bhp' figure at the crank gaz.
He reckoned that it would be 28bhp at the crank and 20 at the rear wheel after tuning.
When you getting that custom pipe and matching tune gaz?
;D
