Years ago at Sherburn/Squires cafe i saw an aircooled bottom end not sure if it was 250 or 400 fitted with a LC top end, spoke to lad riding it and he reckoned he had done the conversion as aircooled bottom ends are stronger than LC's.

A/C 250 and 350 is same stroke as LC 250/50 swoppiong barrels either way can be done
A/C cranks are splined not a taper press fit like LC so do not twist

I was offered an aircooled top end for use on my LC bottom end, seemed like it was the wrong swap... less string crank and lesser top end tune, but would have been an interesting bike I guess as no water, no rad, no pipes etc in an LC means less weight etc.

well dispite the crank being better its step backwards on power. but it would have been intoresting to look at in a lc frame ./

Yep true, but with the LCs frame/body weight the performance would have been terrible i recokon :/
