Just joined the forum and have been enjoying reading the threads, especially the rebuilds, lots of good work in there! Anyway, been chatting to Norbo and wanted to say a 'hello' to you all, although some of you probably already know me from the other forums. Im in Australia and have a bit of a thing for the old RDs and RZs, but dont we all! My two current projects are my RZ250R that is getting converted to 350, a thread about it is here: www.rzrd500.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4650...and my slower project is the blending of KTM250EXC and YPVS 350... that is here: www.rzrd500.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5131I do have other projects on the go as well... SL125, XL500R etc and have build lots of bikes over the years from little Honda MT and MBs (many many of them) to off road rally bikes and supermotos. Anyway, Cheers for a cool forum with a lot of great builds on it!

LOL thanks for the warm welcome guys! Ravedaddy, amusingly BBQ'ing is the only form of cooking (apart from opening beer tops) that an Aussie bloke will do. its not just 'ok work' either (like washing up when your mates arent at your house to watch), its the kind of work women know not to even offer to help with. It comes from mans main reason he was put in this earth, according to some, and that is to eat red meat that's burnt. Aussie men now own the BBQ, and there are whole shops devoted to the biggest and best in stainless units with multiple burners you can plumb into the house gas supply. Some have cool temp gauges and even stuff to turn a chicken round for hours on end. That stuff is just there for bragging rights, no bloke uses that, but if his mates dont have it on theirs, then they're just girls! Of course, real Blokes always just stick everything on the one place and whack it on 11, drink beer, prod the food a bit, talk shit with their mates and then serve the lot when its overcooked (shades of the UK summer ads with 'when will i see you again' singing in the background) whilst moaning that the mrs hasnt cut the bread, sorted the sauce or made 'that salad her n her mates like' cos shes just yakking like, well you know, Aussie birds do... Ok, typecasting? yeah maybe... I dont even own a BBQ, I refuse to. But, 99.9999% of blokes in Aus do. They cant cook, but they sure as hell can BBQ if you ask them. Ive rarely had a terrible BBQ tho here, and most guys pride themselves here on cooking a good steak, always medium rare or rare, no well done steaks here unless youre someones grandad. In fact there is so much steak and chicken (for the ladies) on the BBQ that rarely does anyone do a set of proper bangers or burgers, and most look at me like the 'strange Pom' that I am, when I ask for some of that... sort of 'you want a sausage made up of bits of tat from butchers floor when you could have a proper bit of meat...? Bloody Poms...' etc. Anyway, enough insights into the land where I live for one day... next week we might tackle the fact that ive been places and seen some of the female locals stand to pee... but thats one for beers I reckon... perhaps if i have a BBQ
