i've tried white vinegar on a really rusty bolt and it worked but took afew days.did u use white or brown?

iy seen the thread for this a couple of weeks ago but have not tryed it yet, after seeing this will have to give it go cheap as chips rust remover

i used brown/malt vinegar to clean some VERY rusty parts. most came off within a day.............one bit i had to leave for 2 days.Works a treat just make sure u get some kind of paint/primer on it pretty soon after ;D

Ive tried brown and white here and white seems to work best downunder, but then we have different products here of course and no Tesco LOL. Currently got a bunch of bolts slowly fizzing away in a pot in the garage and a bracket from an LC that was totally rusted, will see how that comes up.

OK... here goes... LOL...
Small brackets with surface rust came up a treat in white vinegar but the very rusty sprung clip (from the top airbox, anyone know what it holds?) was too far gone and its been eaten away. Before i started you could have argued it would clean up ok, but its trashed now. so be a bit careful is my advice... will try and do pic of that clip/bracket thingy from the airbox.

i burnt the arse off a big cooking pot ,put a bottle of tesco brown vinegar and let sit for 3 days.came up sparkling with a bit of a scrub ;D

I use it in my kettle to get rid of the rusty looking marks in the bottom that are actually from my water pipes... yeah its an old house LOL
