am i right in thinking that the original finish on rd125lc mk1 right hand side casings finish is in a satin black,does anybody know of the best paint to get it looking as close as poss to factory finish thanks

as garry rd robbo would say remove all old paint
then use plasticoat bbq black as its near on factory finish ;D

cool thanks got some of that plasti kote bbq paint is it spray straight on or do i have to etch prime it first doesnt say a lot on the can my casing has been vapour blasted back to metal thanks

no primer needed in the sink for a real good wash . warm it up in oven at 20/30 for about 5 mins then spray thin coats better than thick cook it off then leave for few days before reassembley to completly dry grunt

might have a problem heating it up as it still has plastic cogs on back of casing from water pump havent been able to remove them i take it they press out cus it dont want to move

i just put mine in the oven they didnt melt think how hot the engine gets anyway as long as you dont heat it till its glowing red it should be ok ;D
