Hi guys I'm sure this has been asked a gazzilion times before, but I want/need to derestrict my 1987 TZR125 (2RK model) by adding a powervalve controller etc. The DT125 ones seems rarer than rockinghorse poo at the moment, so do any other yam bits fit eg 350YPVS? thanks

thanks guys. i was really intersted whether 350YPVS bits will fit. I'm sure the mechanical bits might fit but clearly the electrics may not be compatible.

mate you will have a nightmare trying to fit 350 bits, just go genuine tzr bits. saying that when tzr's were a current bike me and a friend had one each and he did convert his to fully working ypvs with a few cables and a mountain bike gear change lever,he used to mess about with the lever at high revs to open the valve manualy (and it did go well),personaly i wouldnt bother it just buy the correct bits

even knowing which servo (especially if using a DT125 one), to look for would be useful as there seem to a couple of types e.g. 3 and five wire versions

thanks mellow - BUT is that the same one that my TZR needs? Do you know if the rest of the 350 mechanical hardware (i.e. pulley and housing) can be used? Also....regarding using DT125 sourced parts - what model am I looking for? R3?

Hi mate. The pulley is also the same as 350 one...........part number exactly the same but housing is different i believe. Not sure if tzr bits the same though. You need to get hold of a parts list.Someone on forum may have one.

Mellow - I've looked at the RD125LC powervalve setup and the pulley etc are on the right hand side of the motor, whereas the TZR is on the left. I don't think they are compatible? Perhaps 350YPVS is a better match. I shall look at the bike tonight and see how many wires are needed for the servo and also the servo controller.

OK, I've checked my wiring and I need a 5 wire servo. Bonus - the controller is already installed - looks like a previous owner removed the PV servo, pulley housing & cables. So will a DT125R servo be a bolt on mod or is the mounting bracket different?
