I used comma degreaser in the one at my works on an old set of RD200 carbs that were really gummed up with stale fuel and it worked a treat

My m8 has one, he uses 'jizer' engine cleaner & it works a treat, gets rid of carbon build up, gum, varnish & and all that powdery residue left behind if the carbs haven't been used for a while. He has used ordinary parrafin before and it seems to work just as good, i think as long as you stay away from the caustic / acidic variants of cleaners, it should be ok whatever you use. ps. Duck-oil is a lubricant / waterproofer.....great if you run yer bike through the winter.

i use that on the outside mate...have for years now....its the fluid for other parts ... mate tried "duckoil" bit like gunk etc....gonna have a go at weekend...still got to clear my ypvs and parts 1st... i thought "duck oil" is a lube used to free rusty bolts etc? ?? ive always used "easy start" to clean out carb float bowls etc as it evaporates after.i simply spray loads on and blast it all out with a air line at about 80psi .ive also used cilit bang with good results,another good one but a bit drastic is de-scaling acid which car valeters use to remove heavy break dust on ally wheels,spray it on bare alloy and it looks new in seconds but its very dangerous stuff,literaly smoke comes off it and the fumes are lethal
