Yup, getting steep for something in boxes. Nice project though.

Yep, way over what I'd pay, gonna cost a good 3k to build that
Laughed at the phrase "one of a very few left fully complete bikes in bits"
Is that not an oxymoron 🤣

Yup, getting steep for something in boxes. Nice project though. Currently at £3701 with nearly 6 days to go. By the time it's assembled with everything fixed, you could have bought one done for less money?

Seem to be quite a few half decent valves knocking about for (from) £4.5k and upwards which are ready to ride so im not sure why anyone would want to start with this one. There are some real good ones around for 6k and thats where i would be going if i was expanding my fleet

Looks a great project to me, have taken on much worse as I know plenty others have too. If it has all the parts then that is a big saving on time and money sourcing, but my guess is that there will be quite a bit missing or needing replacing. Interested to see what it makes, it's already beyond what I would pay if I was looking for a project, which I'm not!

Lovely uneconomic project. For me that would be pushing £10k to get into the right condition now with the cost of parts and services. At another time I'd have bid but I have restoration fatigue and I need some genuine using fatigue. Fantastic project mind you but have plenty of money that you will never see again.

Great project and very similar to how mine was when I started, although it seems to be more complete than mine was. I have done everything but the crank rebuild myself and the paintwork which came included with the price of the bike. Despite this, I have still spent over £3700 in parts whether they were missing or new replacements. Unless projects like these can be bought for £2000 or less, you better not be doing it to try and make money, as it’s very unlikely to work out that way 😁

people love to overpay for a project... FOMO, 'knowing better' etc etc

Must be getting bid up by a mate that’s crazy money for what it is. Remember the old days on eBay when you could see who was bidding.

£3900 for a pile of parts! Shakes head. That’s crazy, Got to be close to £4K to get it any good from there? And that’s assuming all the bits are there and salvageable? Jon

It will get relisted, as the buyer (buddy), pulls out. Surely its not a genuine bidder.🤔

Whoever it was paid a lot of money for that, and they've got a lot of money to spend on it yet to get it put back together. £6k to £8k done?

I followed the end of the auction and the winning bid came in with a second on the clock. I assume it's a genuine bid, probably from someone that doesn't know what they've let themselves in for.

I can half understand it
Yes it's more than I would pay in an ideal world but at the end of the day if I was looking for one as a project it did seem like one of the better ones
It's an early LC2 and most parts look like they would refurbish well. Its about 250 before mine which is April 83
I know Norbo's F1 and the ebay F2 are complete running bikes but the LC2 commands the most money
Still going to be costly if you budget £1500 for the engine and £1000 for paint
