I’ve realised that I’ve owned this Lc now for 8 years in that time I’ve hardly used it less than 1000 miles whilst I love it and it gets huge amounts of attention I’m thinking of moving it on. I fancy building an lc2 and tbh this is not getting any use. I know some of you prefer building over riding now. Tbh the only time I use it is at the Manx otherwise I’ll ride a different bike when out with my mates, or obviously when I am doing my pre 65. So would I be best to advertise it as an auction? Or stick fast I’ve an idea of what I’d like returned as it’s for all intents new.

Personally I’d struggle letting go of something so stunning and unique mate, although I fully understand your reasoning behind the decision.
Whoever is lucky enough to end up owning it should first be aware of your build thread, and the engineering obstacles you overcame to achieve the result.
Whichever way you go, auction or fixed price, I wish you the best of luck, and hope it goes to a deserving owner.

Auctions now are a rip off. 12% OMG
Fixed price advert with an offer option would be my choice.
If you dont need the space or money, id hang on as prices are not good ATM

Fixed price listing used to be £25
No doubt gone up but best option
Runs all month or until you choose to end it
It's a tough dilemma mate
Would you use it if you made it a bit more "caravan club"

I've done it loads of times in the past Tim. Build a bike, as nice as I can afford, vowing to keep it, and then when finished I realise I want to build something else/different, so sell the finished bike to fund the next. If I had the money and the room, I would never sell any of them, but the sale of one funds the purchase and build of the next. I find it surprisingly easy to let then go once I've made up my mind, although I often think about them. The key is finding that one buyer who has the cash and the same tastes as you. I've been lucky with my last 3 - Lc hybrids x 2 and the 400 hybrid, in that I found those buyers. Not so sure I can get what I want for the yellow Lc, hence I've not considered selling it, which in turn makes the 250 build a painfully slow process. I personally would avoid auctions - costs are getting ridiculous, and the amount of bellends on ebay will really hack you off Idiots that bid, and then withdraw citing all sorts of improbable excuses are guaranteed to pee you off. I sold my 400 through Marketplace and was lucky with the guy that bought it, but Marketplace has more than it's fair share of bottom feeders and scammers nowadays Good luck, whatever you decide - someone will get a stunning and unique Lc

Tim this is a tough one. You poured so much into that bike...can't you keep it or are funds urgently required? I think you'll regret selling it. If you have to and go through eBay put it on for a month (set fee for that) and at a price more than you want but with offers considered. Make sure you add your phone number and you should be able to do a deal outside of the Bay. Simply end the listing when you have sold it and eBay won't be able to charge you any extra.

Hi Tim that is a lovely and very rare special bike you have built. Reading posts you have made in the past I guess your not short of a bob or room for storage. Personally I would keep it for those special days, but I know time would still have to be spent on maintenance so that it is ready to go when you want it to. They’re not like a Suzuki Bandit, just press the button and go. Have you ever thought about trying to perfect some of the bits you think could be improved? You could look at them as special single projects which would make very interesting threads on this forum. Just imagine if it is sold to someone who paints it a lurid colour then runs the builder down for using the wrong bolts, calls him a monkey and he will fix it all. Then fits a Wind Jammer fairing on it. People will still think it’s your original build because of the design Good luck with your choice.

Thanks lads. It is unique and there in lies the problem, limited market who will probably see the price of everything but not the value. I may try it just to see. If it goes great if not? It isn’t the end of the world. I’ve never owned a bike as long. It appreciate all the advice and help lads. 👍

Percentage for everything not a vehicle. I’m sure it’s about £40 fixed fee for vehicles because it’s about £20 to list them so they take a cut up front

You should have said mark. Which direction? Was I riding like a t**t? 😁 Bishopscourt/Alpine towards Ramsey. I was on my Ducati SFV4S and enjoying the LC experience from the back. You weren't holding back (mainly 50 limits) and I was smiling to myself..
