Hi all, I'm replacing the old fittings on my belly pan(81' 350lc 4L0) and have fitted 25mm p clips-but my old bolts are too long(i was using a thicker fitting clamps before)-what's the right length m6 bolt to order with dome nuts?. I always find its a bit of a job to get it back on-is there any bolt/nut/clip combination or tips that makes it easier to remove & replace?-i'm putting the bolt head & washer on the inside & the nut/washer on the outside but getting it to tighten up is great fun.I'm trying to compress the clip, get the thread through the hole then get a spanner in to hold the bolt head on the inside, then at the same time get the washer & nut on and tightened up on the outside- its causing a far bit of swearing when its attempted to be honest...the rear clips are the worse and my fingers are not 10 inches long! Thanks in advance.

spire clips... thats the only way. its the equivalent of another hand with long fingers helping you. Just fit your p clip on the frame with the spire clip on it and its a 2 min job.

Secure the 4 p clips in position on the frame with a bolt passed through from the inside and fix with a nut, stretch the belly pan over the bolts and fix with dome nuts and washers on the outside. Simples 😁 OEB

You could even get colour dome nuts and washers from pro bolt to match the paint

Or you could use chimney lug nuts on the p clips .
