Hello everyone
Recently the Gaskets for the exaust became leaking. I fixed this with sealing Compound but after a few Days the seal was broken an it leaked Fuel again.
Does anyone know what Gaskets you need for the Yamaha RD250LC 4L1. The Diameter was around 50 mm, this is not 100 % acurate because it was bent quite a bit. Also the Gasket was built like a Spiral out of Rubber and Aluminium.
Greetings Ronnie

The crush type gasket you describe is standard. Early 350s, not sure if the 250, had a spacer type steel washer in the exhaust recess. Try new crush washers and see how you go.

Can you post up pics of the cylinder exhaust outlet and the exhaust flange, as there are a few different combinations?

I use those gaskets and they seem to work fine, have had them a little while. I use them on a 250LC as well.

There are 3 versions of the 250 cylinders. The early kind use a smaller gasket like the RD125LC and the air-cooled bikes.
The laster two versions use the larger gaskets.
The early 1980 exhaust (thin flange) on early cylinders need just the smaller gasket.
The modified 1980 (thick flange) exhausts on early cylinders need a spacer fitted in the cylinders and a larger gasket.
The modified 1980 (thick flange) exhausts on later cylinders need two larger gaskets fitted per cylinder.
The 1981 and the 4L2 exhausts (medium flange) use just one gasket in the cylinder side - small for early cylinders or large for later cylinders.

They look like the later exhausts and the bike has tie bars so hopefully the cylinders are not the early ones. You should just need the larger later type gaskets. You can try the YPVS exhaust gaskets which are copper with some high temp silicon.
If it is still not pulling up and sealing well, you may need to put a wire loop (coat hangers work well) on the exhaust between the flange and the lip on the end of the down pipe so the flange can push more on the lip.

Im sure they go either way a smear of sealant each side (stops them falling out ) and on with the exhausts and torque up
