Has anyone tried Pirelli sport demons, I have a bunch of 1st gen interceptors and the 16” front really limits my choices. They come in sizes for 40 year old sport bikes so I thought I would give them a try as I used to love the phantoms.

I like predictable, tires that slip without grabbing (like cold slicks) are what I was more or less worried about. I wonder how they would compare to bt45’s?

Yes
Bike was running a 100/80 17 front and a 130/70 rear so still quite skinny.
They weren't like a super sticky tyre that you pushed wondering where the limit was
As you say they predictably wandered around a bit

'Interceptors' and 'tires' tells me USA or Canada. My tuppence worth is that it would be virtually impossible to buy any bad tyres these days. The worst tyres now are probably better than the racing tyres from the 80's were. The possible exception of anything made in China called 'Golden Boy'. I would go for them myself. The lad and I did the Ron Haslam school and afterwards the instructor asked us about the tyres and said that we were probably thinking they were some super sticky track tyre? Nope just some run of the mill Dunlop sports touring tyre with loads of deep tread right across. Felt great on the track.

Sorry, I grew up in England and when I moved here I was initially appalled at the b*****dization of the English language, but after 50 years have grown to accept it. It’s worse south of the Canadian border by a long shot.

They used to be owned by Ford but were sold many years ago to the Indian firm Tata. Old habits die hard.

It’s worse south of the Canadian border by a long shot. I was doing some fishing on a lake in Florida with one of my lads and asked him to pass me the disgorger, the aluminium one. One of the sites security guys who was with us and we had been chatting with said how funny it sounded when us guys said aluminium. I said that we invented the language so our way is right and he laughed There's plenty of people born and brought up in England that can barely speak English correctly and even more that can't spell most of it so there's no problem with a couple of spelling discrepancies Lots of English people use Americanisms here. It's hard to tell what is and isn't now. (BTW its b####disation, no Z (zed)

I have a set of Sport Demons on my 4L0 and am not impressed. The rear tire sometimes loses grip in corners and slides a bit so it doesn’t inspire confidence. My friend has a set of BT45’s on his and doesn’t have that problem.

My friend has a set of BT45’s on his and doesn’t have that problem. Hmmmm, good to know, I usually run Bridgestone’s but decided to buy these this time around. The vf500f is a lot heavier than my 4L0 so that may make a difference, I don’t mind a little bit of the rear end stepping out, as long as it’s somewhat progressive and doesn’t abruptly send me into the rhubarb. Thanks for the heads up.
