Can anyone tell me what the bracket in the middle with the threaded hole is for next to the rubber part for the top of the Raditor please on my F1. Also I have brought a battery with the right code on it but it dosn't fit in the battery box has anyone else come across this? Thanks Arrdy 👍

yes the F1 rad cover is totally different as fits in with the fairing mids designwise.
LC2 is like the N model version but that has some small plates added where the belly pan connects on the LC2 (or so im told, Ive never had an N bike, only the rad cover)

It was all just Yamaha (outwith Japan) being lazy and simplifying parts
We got 1 frame that did LC2 in 83/84 (mod at headstock for 84), 1 frame for N and F in 85 (hence yours having both rad cover mount options) and 1 frame for N2 and F2 86 on
In Japan there was a separate frame for every model
If a bike was naked it had no fairing brackets, not even for a belly pan
I had a naked 88 Jap model and no headstock mount, no faired rad cover mount, no fairing mounts at the infills, no fairing brackets below the rad and no belly pan brackets
Looked much cleaner
