A sad & quick ending given his last radio broadcast was on Sunday...
I'm a firm Radio 6 listener, but as said above Wrighty was on our airwaves for many years. RIP.

Will be sadly missed. A radio legend, RIP. Mr Angry was one of my favourite characters.

Very sad he seemed like a genuine person. Ask Elvis was my favourite feature.

I have radio 2 on most days and when he got kicked off his afternoon slot I thought that was harsh and I think it affected him more than he let on. Thinking about his Sunday morning slot who will take that on
RIP Not much older than most of us here ☹

Sad that he has passed but seems like I’m the only one who wasn’t a fan.

Him and later Mark & Lard have been the only DJ's I've ever seen people stop work and stand near the radio to listen to. Apart from Johnny Walker the remainders are just nails down a blackboard.

IMHO there are quite a few DJs who time has forgotten who would wipe the floor with the current crop of mealy-mouthed limp snowflakes that are on the air now.
Some names from the past, some you’ll love, some you’ll hate but they all at the very least provoked a reaction rather than just being bland background noise;
Kenny Everett, Chris Evans, Danny Baker, Chris Moyles, Rick Dees, Adam Carola

We always used to listen to Our Tune on Simon Bates ,radio 1 in the 80s. Laterly i used to listen to Ken Bruice, Popmaster.

Couldn't stand Chris Moyles, what a talentless to$$ pot.
