Anyone got tips for removing floor tile mortar (cement)from plywood? I’ve lifted the tiles but when i plywooded the floor a couple of decades ago I nailed and screwed the ply down so no loose bits ,it worked never had cracks in the grout ,anyway the cement is solid and im struggling to scrape it off ive bought various scrapers some of it comes off easily but most wont budge its like a different batch of cement.

That’s what I was thinking, SDS chisel
Or a floor sander, it’ll make lot of dust though unless it has a vacuum attachment, I’d hazard a guess you could hire one
Or at a push a belt sander, same issue though, lots of dust
At least if the chiselling goes pear shaped, you won’t have gouges in the ply wood

If it is tile adhesive, it will come off with water....

If the new floor height is not critical get all the loose stuff off then pour on some self leveling screed

Sharpened bolster and hammer might do it, then rub over with a carborundum stone

It's probably going to be easier to lift and remove the ply than to get the adhesive off . I presume you used a cementous adhesive ( I.e. Mappei rapid set ) if so you'll trash the ply trying to get it off so save yourself some time and hassle.
