Hi all Volunteered to rebuild a 250 AC engine for a local mate😔 Is it normal for the selector forks to have split pins like this to prevent the round pin slipping out the back of its location hole? And the round selector fork dogs that run in the shift drum to be a loose fit in the holes? Many thanks in advance. Best wishes Al

Yes. My TZ ones are the same. Thanks Rob for the confirmation Mate said bottom end was total rebuild including new crank by the PO but as normal not the case😔 Lots of other bodges like when I went to remove the clutch pressure plate it just spun round😳 And when I stripped it found the PO of had placed the small ball bearing on the pressure plate rather than than behind the “top hat” pusher so was holding the pressure plate, so preventing the pressures plate from clamping the clutch plate stack😔

There are a couple of sets on ebay with split pins in so I think it is normal for them to have them in 👍
