I'd say worth a punt for what it is. My concern would be the seller having only 9 feedbacks and it seems odd to post only a single picture of the bike? Might be all good but initially I'd be wary of it being a bit scammy? You could of course always call and have a chat about it to get an idea if it sounds genuine or not.

I'd also want more answers about having the original fairings
The R has lugs for the fairing infills welded to the frame which are usually cut off when you make them naked
1 picture is a bit daft, maybe putting more on after listed

Awful headlight / clocks mount.
It's an expensive project bike if it needs a full engine rebuild / strip like most of them.

I'd pay no more than £3k for it as it stands. It will need £3k and time putting into it to make it a nice bike, so a £6k bike. Thats market area for a nice example in my view.

Prices here in Malaysia are very high and mainly 250's and 125's from what I see. I believe that you could find spares here at one time but looking at the contact names on the site none are still around. If there are hints of bits or bikes they are all in the KL side and I stay in the Sarawak side which is a 2hr flight. If that is incorrect and anybody has contacts here I could have a look as I go over to KL now and again. Will be going to Bangkok and Cambodia too but not sure where I could look when I'm there.

My own thoughts are that the bike is spoiled by the bars, clocks and headlamp area. I also don't like the rear with the small number plate. For me the bike would be improved by respray in standard colours as for me black is not the colour for a bike with a black engine. With the bike in colour I'd paint the exhausts, the shiny colour shows the welds which for me makes the pipes look home made. I would also look for a fairing so that the bike would look like a standard bike not a badly done mismatch. The brakes are fine but I personally would coat them black. They stand out now and for me nothing should dominate any single area. The engine painting is poor so in terms of quality it would need recoating.
Done to that plan, the bike as an R would be nice but still low net value. As mentioned, possibly £6k top and a significant net loss if sold as it would then be but could be a nice looking long term user bike. My thoughts on value now? £4k max as an as-is user with a view to future restoration and £3k with a view to restore as I'd like to see it (It would be an insult to the seller though). The bike seems to run beautifully and there could be a good bike in there.

I wonder what it handles like? The fork legs have been assembled wrong, look at the length of exposed stanchion below the bottom yoke. Since they are R model forks they would normally protrude about 30mm above the top yoke and have clip-on bars mounted to them. They have been mounted flush here, slackening the head angle.

I note that the seller has reduced the price and is also accepting offers. You might get away with a cheeky offer 😉
