My teeth have never been great, my baby teeth came through without any enamel so they were all pulled out when I was a toddler. That meant there was no guide for the new teeth so they came through wherever they fancied… All my back teeth are either filled or crowned and I have a few missing, so have always been keen to keep as many as I can. One of my lower right molars was knackered so I opted for root canal, but it failed (£700 down the pan over an 18 month period ) and tomorrow it’s being extracted. So, to the point. We are all mostly of an age so what’s my best option? Who’s had what successfully? Turkey teeth seem to be very hit and miss but cost far less than implants over here? Individual implants seem to be around £2500 each, although a specialist in Manchester is offering a full grate for £15k (well out of my price range) I will definitely have two I would like replacing in the lower (left and right) plus three in the upper left (all crowned but not the best) Anyone had any success? Not bothered about movie star looks, just want pain free gnashers that let me eat and chew whatever I like!

I know a guy here in Aus who went to somewhere in Asia to have his teeth done 10 or so years back. They had all the latest equipment and did the job with a hotel stay and flights for less than half what it would have cost here.
He was very pleased with his new boobs teeth...
(I jest, as we did with him... as thats what loads of ladies were going off abroad for at the time lol)
Joking aside, he said it was a great expereince as they really looked after him as they knew he would go home and tell his mates and that word of mouth would net them more biz.
I do remember tho that trotting up to A&E 5 or so years back that they had a sign that said you had to disclose if you had recently returned from having surgery abroad as I guess they had people being discharged from procedures too soon I guess.

One of the women at work has had her teeth done in Turkey, and they look perfect, except, they are too white. Almost neon blue white if you known what I mean All in all, she had a great experience apart from the discomfort of the actual procedure. Her husband had his done too and the transformation is amazing. She got a holiday thrown in with the trip, in a 5 star hotel, all for a fraction of the cost over here. They are more than happy with the experience. The initial consultation happened in this country, so everything was planned before they got there. Got another mate who had a hair implantation on his bonce in Turkey too - they did a good job of that as well. Another mate had his nose done in Thailand - fraction of the cost in the Uk and transformed his face. Still an ugly bastid but not as ugly as he was

Do good research for anyone offering implants. I broke a tooth years ago, my dentist at the time, a large Bupa place offered implants but the normal dentist there (who thought I might need an implant) suggested I go to a specialist she liked because she knew of the difference in skill level and results.
I rang around a few places anyway and didn't like what I heard on calls (in more ways than one, some were hard to understand as well). So I went to the recommended place, in the end, a root canal was all that I needed after a good x-ray and examination of the tooth. Followed up with a crown, it's been perfect since.
I always remember neither the cheapest or the most expensive is necessarily the best. Best wishes looking 👍

I have a friend who recently had dental implants in Germany, giving all new teeth, top and bottom sets are fastened in to the implants, 6 at the top and 4 at the bottom, he had 2 visits over 4 months, he's very pleased with the result and they do look fantastic. £7,500 all in, he paid for his own flights. He tells me his UK dentist quoted £22,500 for the same work. He's been back to his own dentist for a check up and he says his own dentist says the work is top quality.

So, went to the dentist that I was referred to for the extraction this afternoon. First thing he asked was why was I having it removed. Told him my own dentist said it wasn’t good enough to crown so I had to have it out. If it’s not painful or giving you trouble I would leave it alone was his reply. I’ve seen far worse. The root canal was a good job on a crap tooth, but there’s no nerve so it won’t give you any pain. So in layman’s terms, two dodgy teeth are better than no teeth. If I was looking for a smile like Mr Ed then implants are the way to go but looks like I’m not there yet. Yet………
Thanks for everyone’s replies.

This stuff really grinds my gears
It's feckin teeth, not diamonds
I see it all as a rip off. 2 and a half grand for one tooth, I could get a pair of tits for that 😤

one downside, some UK dentists are refusing to do corrective work on "Turkey teeth" So if there is a problem you may struggle to get support in the UK and have to return to Turkey

As Raven says, their own dentist didn’t want to know.

Hmm, sounds pretty unprofessional to just shrug and say they wont help. How can that be ethical?

I'm hanging onto my teeth like the rest of you gummy bears 🐻 I had all my back teeth filled in my late teens early twenties then got one gold crown on 2nd replacement. Lost half a front tooth at Damned concert and had that repaired. My dentist has told me my gums are the problem and have receded to a point that the teeth can loosen 🙈 Once they have receded then that's it,you don't get it back. I use a tooth paste called Corsodyl for gums and sensodyne pronamel and lots of little flossing brushes. But I think a case of shutting the door after the hoss has already bolted !
So my advice looking after your gums is as important

So my advice looking after your gums is as important I’ve got the opposite problem. My jaw is “Taurus mandibularis”. It’s braced all over. My dentist hopes I never need one pulled as he doesn’t know if be able to do it. If I eventually need a crown on my back lower teeth, they might have to shave the jaw bone down first! Jon

I've been lucky so far but dread losing teeth
Don't get me wrong, my teeth aren't all original. Got fisher seals done in primary school but obviously not done right as within a few years I had fillings in the 8 teeth they sealed
Then needed refilled due to breaking or further rot and now 5 of them crowned
Had a dentist tell me after an x ray I had decay between teeth so he would have to take a crown off the tooth behind it to get access
Took it all off, poked around, said there wasn't any decay then charged me £300 for a new crown. What a t**t
NHS dentistry is f*cked now. If its not a straight forward filling or extraction they will only do it private as they say NHS won't pay for it
I think the truth is that Covid gave them the excuse to say that as the greedy shits want to make more money out the private work
If you are an NHS dentist you should do the bloody work
My wife recently needed a crown. Gave her 3 ridiculous prices going up in price from silver, gold and a white one
She mulled it over obviously too long for him. He came back with another white option which was cheaper than the lot that he hadn't mentioned before - cnut
