Hey fellas I have a ratty LC over here in sunny South Australia, it’s a 250LC with a 350 motor (I’ve added the extra bits) and the shonkiest most butchered loom you ever…. Well, maybe you lot have seen worse but you get my point. Anyway, was using the LC regularly until the electrics just died a few months ago, and it has languished while work and family took priority, but now I’ve put the NOS loom I’ve had squirrelled away for many years onto it. As I lifted and tweaked the old loom off it was falling apart in my hands, so the new loom was the only way forward. The bike fires up nice again now. There are other issues but I’ll save those for another post.
SO, to my point, The reg/rec looks absolutely horrible and I want to replace it, although it does seem to work. I have done a search here for any Regulator/rectifier posts. I have had a little trawl for aftermarket options. In the posts someone has mentioned MOSFET regulators. I have been tempted by a Forsetti one.
ANY ADVICE OR ALTERNATIVES?

Thanks, is this going to be OK with a Motobatt? So many battery technologies now.

Thanks, is this going to be OK with a Motobatt? So many battery technologies now. As long as it's an AGM Motobatt and not a lithium one then yes. If in any doubt, check with Electrex World first.

Many modern bikes use MOSFET regulators, so with a bit of research you might be able to find something commonly available you could adapt. For example, the Kawasaki ZX10R has a FH010BA part that seems quite common. But once you add the cost of a ZX10 unit, even second-hand, plus the connectors you would need, that Electrex one urbantangleweed mentions above looks like a good deal.
