Hi, my LC2 came with an F2 front end, and whilst It fits, the stanchions are a bit too long. Through a bit of searching on here It seems the forks are the same on both models except for the stanchions.
So I bought a set of LC2 forks and I’m going to put these stanchions on the F2 fork bottoms, so the brakes and muddy fit.
I’m about to buy the seals etc, but the bushes on Norbo’s website list different bushes for lc2 and F2 and was hoping someone could tell me which one I need?
From the parts lists I've seen they should be the same.
Thanks for any help, Cheers.

Hi ,good luck with your project . I rebuilt an RD250E some years ago and fitted a pair of YPVS forks mainly to fit another disc . I had the same problem with stanchion length . My solution was to have them machined down on the tops and a new thread cut for the fork tops . I had them done at the workshop were i work , if i remember right it cost me £20.00 and a box of biscuits.

I'd guess you need f2 bushes for the lowers and lc2 for the stanchions

Hi Tucktonite,
I did exactly this on my rd350r when I changed the f2 stanchions to lc2 stanchions so I could fit renthal handle bars.
I fitted the lc2 stanchions to the f2 fork lowers and replaced all the bushes/seals etc.
The main issue I had was that the f2 fork springs and damper rod rebound springs were too wide to fit inside the lc2 stanchions. The f2 damper rods were too tight for my liking as well. I ended up having to buy a pair of used lc2 damper rods and rebound springs from eBay and fitting them. I then bought a pair of shorter fork springs with a smaller outside diameter from hagon.
As Steve said you need the lc2 bushes for the stanchions and the f2 bushes/seals for the fork lowers. The new f2 plastic damper rod sliders I bought were also too wide for the lc2 stanchions so I just had to file a few mm from the split end to make it fit and slide smoothly.
Cheers
Jim
