Could somebody who has refurbished a 250 1/2 inch master cylinder confirm 100% they normally have the extra small relief hole. I have been attempting to clear the place where it looks like there is a hole with no luck. I ground down a hacksaw blade small enough to fit though the small hole in a 350 master cylinder. However I cannot push it through the 250 master cylinder hole. Looking down the bore I cannot see any sign of a hole as I can on the 350. The unit has the sight glass that clips in. Therefore I want to confirm before I damage something.

Yes there are 2 holes. I used a piece of wire from a wire brush held with some pliers to clean out the small hole. It is known for blocking and prevents the pads from returning.

Thanks for confirming. Thought it must have one but it is solid. I’ll persevere.

had similar recently, the hole was solidly blocked and i couldn't poke through the hole, soaked the MC in vinegar, whether that helped or not, who knows but was then able to get a thin welding nozzle tip cleaner into the hole to clear out the blockage..

A last resort would be to use a micro drill, best guess 0.5mm dia. , but be careful not to snap it or you will be a world of poop.

Ended up getting it clear by grinding down an old Allen key that I could fit through the 350 hole. Then carefully tapped through with a hammer. It was seriously blocked. No way a strong wire would have cleared it.

No way a strong wire would have cleared it. glad you got that sorted.. it's the simple things that sometimes throw you off track and you know that you are right but there's a doubt.. which is why there are no silly questions.. I tried mine with the usual bit of copper wire but it wasn't strong enough to go through the blockage. marti
