Hello all.. Is anyone in here s**t hot on internet ,wifi, router, voip etc etc... Need to get a connection to the other side of the house ,so I can use the internet and voip calls. We have fibre to house, then a cat 6 cable running to the other side of the house - (wired internet) but now need to get a connection for the phone (voip) Only thing I can think of is running another cable (for phone ) and plug that into the back of our router... WiFi breaks down ,so that's not a option really.. Any ideas TIA Steve

Some BB providers can provide you with a home booster, can't they?

Take a look at powerline. Uses the electric circuit as a data network. Can then go wired or wireless from the power line plug. Does need to be on the same ring main.

Is there CAT6 cabling near where you want the phone? A wired connection will be preferable to Wi-Fi. If the cabling comes out where you want the phone, just add a switch like this one :- www.argos.co.uk/product/8495459

All the ones I've seen like the ones you've linked ar rj45... I've tried different connections rj45 - rj11 and the bloody phone won't work ... Plug it into the back of our modem/router and it works fine ... I hate technology

What model VOIP phone do you have? Does it plug into an RJ11 connector on the router?

What model VOIP phone do you have? Does it plug into an RJ11 connector on the router? It's my parents old bloody phone (big numbers etc etc ). Basically on our side you plug into the back of the router via a rj11 connection - This is the filter they supply so you can use the old phones. It works fine our side - but not their side (no router / modem ) on their side... I did think about adding a model/router their side... But you cant have 2 modems/ routers connected.... "So I've been told"
