Guys, I posted on here back in the summer about my mates 350 Banshee with the broken crank. He's had the engine rebuilt but now he's having running problems with it.
He's running PWK 28mm carbs and pod filters and he reckons he got the jetting set up correctly. It starts 2nd kick and runs fine until it warms up then he says the RH cylinder starts breaking down and misfiring!
He's been through loads of plugs, fitted new plug caps but it still does it. I told him to swap the L and R plug leads to see if the problem moves to the other cylinder but he reckons one of the leads is too short so he can't do that!😩
He's now suspecting the ignition coil although he says the resistance checks are ok.
He's also thinking the CDI could be breaking down when it gets hot.
Any help appreciated guys as it's doing his head in.🤔👍

Not an expert but I would suspect the cdi

Unbolt the coil, attach an earth wire to it and leave it dangling while he swaps the caps over

Nice one Steve I'll tell him to give that a go!👍
If that don't work, I'm also thinking CDI.

If the Banshee is wired like the YPVS, then both plugs fire at the same time. So it's unlikely to be the coil or CDI. If one cylinder is firing then so should the other one. It's more likely to be the spark plug itself, or the carburettor. Swap plugs and if possible swap carbs (separately) and see if the problem moves.

It could be the carb with a wrong float height or something like that. It fires up and drains the carb and it’s not filling up fast enough. It’ll fill over time when it’s off.
Plus has it had a leak down test. Just something to eliminate the crank seal etc

Could well be carbs, I've asked him to swap them over.
Doubt it's gonna be a crank seal as the engine's recently been rebuilt with a brand new Hot rods crank and seals!🤞
