Looks ok for the money. Depends if you want it all original. VFR400 carbs are meant to be a nightmare to work on. Would look good with a Tyga kit on it.

Could be a nice project, the 24's dont seem to make big money anyway and without original bodywork price is a little under what it's worth. There is some cheap stuff around at the moment.

Good luck with that one given the complexity of the carbs etc. Also the Honda parts prices are a total joke.
That said, a lovely bike if well kept.

Don't see it as a bargain personally. Could be a nightmare in those carbs. And it's only cheap if you don't have to spend large on it, which there is a good chance you will, especially if all 4 carbs are worn out. Not for me I'm afraid. 🙂

Too be honest I think by the time you sorted the running and the bodywork you'd have spent as much as a good one

I had one for a few years in red blue and white, never gave any trouble but could never get rid of the ticking tappet noise from the lump, clearances check professionally and were perfect, sold it for an NC29 CBR400RR Gullarm, that was a peach. If you have time, not bothered about a bit of tinkering its a great machine, never be worth much though.

Parts availability? Parts prices ? Specialists who can do the work ? Availability of good used spares ? Were they a UK imported bike ? If not, that will make things more difficult I think
Still no for me.

I've totally refurbished a set of NC 30 carbs recently and definitely not for the faint hearted 🤣, that is if done properly.

I had VFRs and RVFs from when they came out in 1987 until recently and rate the NC35 as one of the best bikes ever marketed and the NC30 too. I'd be too old and demotivated now to take a project like this one on. Definitely not a Yam to work on.

Carbs can be a nightmare and certainly not for the faint hearted, having said that I've restored 2 of these a few years ago and they are a wonderful little bike to ride.
