Can anyone recommend a person or company who can reduce the length of a triple clamp centre stem and re thread for the crown and lock nut, and re profile for the top bearings ?

I would check out Nigel over at NK racing. I’ve had some odd jobs done by him.

A good, local engineering company to you, if you have one, should be able to carry out a job like that. A local guy to me is gonna do a new stem for Alex as he cant use the standard one. Relatively easy job for someone with the kit and knowledge

Thanks for the info and advice, Gents. I'm gonna speak to a couple of local engineering companies to see if they can do the work. But as we all know Japanese thread and cutting tools aren't always to hand. I'll have to do a bit more surfing to see if I can get the correct size dies from Japan because I know they arnt standard pitch. The lathe work looks straight forward to do,, Says a bloke who's installed fire & security systems all his life and just scraped a CSE in metalwork 😁

The threads will be metric fine which any good engineering firm will be able to cut on a lathe.

The fine threads are the same 60 degree inclusive thread angle, so the same cuttings tool is used just less depth cut.

Ive taken tacky 1's advice and contacted Nigel at NK and sent both triple clamps 1 for him to use as template and the other to be machined. Im just waiting for the email/phone call to pay him when complete now. So hopefully all will be well in a few weeks or so 😁
