I measured the fork slider internal diameter and compared to YSS list, 238 is the diameter of the emulator

I did look into this last winter when rebuilding my LC. I believe they do not fit as standard, but some modification is required, though exactly what, wasn't completely clear. Due to this I didn't fit them to mine in the end.

You need to enlarge the hole(s) in the damper rod, 2 min job From memory as well as enlarging the existing holes, you need to drill some more. you need to make sure you deburr them too. Much more than 2 minutes, but a simple job. Jon

Tks.

100% the 238 is the correct kit for the 4LO, no machining to do they drop straight into the damper rods.👍
Mark.

So moving on... If one replaces the old springs with same dimension new ones, should these be reduced in lenght to compensate for the " height" of the emulator.. Tks..

Spring remains the same length, cut the top spacer down to suit, 20mm I seem to remember is the Emulator height.(I'm sure Jon will tell us)

Ah so no spacer means either cut down the springs, or can you modify top threaded caps? OR wonder what it would be like with extra preload?

I fitted the YSS238 emulators to my 4L0 forks two years ago.
Drilled the damper rods as per instructions , cut 10mm of the tight wound end of spring and ground end flat. (Emulators add 15mm of preload).
ATF oil .
Emulators working well , done a few thousand miles , solo, two up and a weekend doing Curborough Twisty Sprint on it .
