Yeaterday I purchased a Creworks ultrasonic cleaner via ebay. It was a last ditch effort as I am resurecting all my bikes including my 3 Ducati's which have not been used for a few years, at least, in some cases.
The major problem with these bikes is the petrol pump stops working and as it's an in tank pump it has to be unstuck if you are lucky or replaced. New price for a pump from Ducati £172, although as it is a Bosch car pump they can be purchased for under £80 using the same part number, still not cheap, how many LC parts are like that? depending on rarity?. A new fuel pump with plate for the tank is a staggering £652!!
To my point, I decided to get an ultrasonic 6.5 litre cleaner for £119 from eBay, WOW!! although I had ordered proper carb. cleaner at the same time the ultrasonic cleaner turned up today and I had to give it a go.
Armed with just water and dish washing liquid it made an incredible good job of cleaning up all my fuel pump parts and I am quite convinced that given the right cleaning solution this could be a fantastic tool for cleaning, degreasing and rustproofing a number of parts for LC's etc. especially carbs etc.
I can post a current link if anyone is interested, but I see this as a great investment tool for future use. The basket is easily big enough for carb. parts and beyond and even simple cleaning fluids have a big impact and the time saving I can't imagine. A tool worth having in many ways.

Dont stick yer fingers in it while its running.
Other than that, they are great kit. Been using them for years to clean all sorts of things.

Agreed, this was more of a desperate move on my part as I wanted to get a certificate of compliance for my Ducati 998, which is, as I understand it, compliant at euro 3, just! The fuel pump has gone and is rusted but the rest can be cleaned and this working its magic
Out of all the pieces of kit I have purchased over the years this is the second most useful. A really top-notch air compressor is first but this is a very good second choice.
I would recommend this to all as the time it saves is incredible, seriously pleased with my purchase and amazed at how well it cleans.

Does this mean I need to ditch my Brillo pads?

They are also usefully for cleaning the frying pan when your drunk and decide to cook something and dooze off for a bit. I think the most useful tool I have is a gas torch.

It was this person below, there are a few cleaners on eBay for the same price and he just happened to be first on the list. Very efficient service.

I bought a Johnsons (I think) one a few years ago for about £40. It has a few drawbacks: quite small, big enough to do a carb if you turn it and do one side at a time and the timer is only 5 minutes so I have to keep setting it again and again. I have done a lot of things in it and it works well. I use carb cleaner all the time in it. It's very good for electrical stuff like connector blocks. I've been thinking I should get a bigger one with a heater and timer so I'll have a good look at these thanks. Just bought one

They are good 6 litres and up to 80C on the temperature and a 30-minute timer if anyone needs to know the specs.
