Got the hybrid on the road and the speedo is miles out, is there a solution like using a yamaha speedo drive of something with a 17" front wheel?

I'm running rgv wheel/drive with N clocks and when I srrapped a satnav on the GPS speed was 69 when the speedo said 70 so ridiculously accurate
I did fit a NOS FZ600 speedo though
Easily identified by it being 135mph

Thanks Steve, I'm using the 350N clock and I reckon its miles out, either that or I am suddenly very quick which I'm sure I'm not, I'm guessing because it would use an 18" wheel, I'll get an FZR clock thanks pal.

The difference in speed showing using a 17 or 18 inch wheel is around 5% so if your delta is more than that its not down to wheel size, maybe the speedo you are using, needle setting or something else.

I'll stick the satnav on it tomorrow and work out what its doing, if its right though I need to slow down. What was the part number on the speedo Steve, I cant find one that says 135mph they all seem to say 160mph, Bike came as a frame, swingarm, rgv frontend and a 31K motor, I can't remember if it came with the speedo drive in it so I'll start getting one of those as it could be anything.

According to Fowlers the speedo part number for the 86-88 FZ600 is 2EW-83570-F0
There are a few complete sets on ebay but the cheapest set is 100 quid 😖

Nothing in the correct black/red face unfortunately Only got a USA FZR black/white faced one but it would have been 17 inch wheel You could always stick an FZR temp gauge in then it would just be the central tacho that would be different Steve

Took it out today and taped my satnav to it, tricky to see it in the sun but weirdly I'm going to say its doing about 10mph more on the speedo than I am on the bike, gets a bit hard to read it at 70mph and to be fair I'm speeding over that anyway and I'll know that.
The important ones 30, 40 and 50 it is reading 40, 50 and 60mph and I can live with that, I'll clock it against a mate at fixed speeds and try to clarify what its doing for sure.
