Ive been searching and not found much info, I'm fitting an R6 front end, what do you use for a speedo, I have some LC clocks and YPVS clocks and I think a few other sets, TZR/RD500 etc, Is there some way to retrofit a speedo in there to run from a magnet off the front disc... Trying to figure out what to run in the original clocks, I dont really want a Koso setup.....

If you are wanting to keep LC clock cases then Koso instruments in LC cases is about your only option
Al does printed instrument cases to convert
Either that or you are looking at grafting in a GPS speedo with a digital read out

You might be able to use a Translogic dashboard but you would probably only be able to display minimal information. The photos are of one fitted to a Ducati 748/998. Speedo pickup is via the rear disc in this case but can be setup on the front. On these models the speedo is driven by cable and the rev counter and temp. gauge are electric. You can download fitting instructions from the internet to see if it will work for you. 3 by

Is the R6 a mechanical drive or a later electronic one? Could you not use R6 clocks to make it easier? My thoughts on fitting electronic to a Lc are one thing also to be mindful of is over or under reading. Whilst mine has been set up (koso) to run of the disc I thought it was bang on, however at 30mph shown I’m doing nearly 40 and it gets progressively inaccurate at approx 60 shown I’m doing 80 etc this was compared to my mates 765 rs. This won’t be an issue if you keep a mechanical drive from an equivalent yamaha from the same period to the clocks. The other consideration is buying electronic clocks they will need to be set up and wired properly.

I might go the Koso route though...

Very early R6 can poss be used, its like the R1 (which was easier to make work, tho not 5mins) from a decade back when they were cheap. the rzrd500 350 forum has a long thread on that info. FWIW Speedo healer and tacho feed fudger (tech term) can fix the inputs. depends on how much effort you want to put in... I have an R1 setup i should use or sell really, problem is these things used to be cheap but not anymore since early R1s are worth $$$ now, but stuff always cheaper in US for you

I didn't know I could make the R1/6 speedo work, I think I have a few of them here in a box somewhere, Just need to look for the info on making them work

Quick update. I bought the pods from Alan and I have a set of LC clocks with no innards. I bought the Koso clocks to fit in there. I’ll update when I have them finished
