Forgive me godly RD father for I have sinned 😔
Just been down to the local tip and dumped 2 x 31k exhausts, 2 x 1ua exhausts, 2 x 31k seats and a holed 31k tank
Even the guy at the tip asked if it was RD stuff and surely worth money 🤣
Fortunately bottom of the barrel stuff 😅

I think at certain times we all hang on to "stuff" which is rubbish sometimes!!, I know I am a hoarder to a certain extent and I have certain items that go way back to when I was a child.
I discovered some old Waddington board games that date back many years recently. These were games when things like counters were made of metal and houses in Monopoly were made of wood. Probably worth not a lot but it's part of my childhood history and we played board games a lot in those days, Risk, Buccaneer, Bonanza, Original Monopoly, Railroader, and Cluedo, with a real lead pipe!! , Go, etc. Does anyone remember these?

All my skip grade stuff does in there… surprising how many times I’ve been grateful to go back in..

Last time I moved. I took a trailer load of air-cooled Rd parts to Reading tip. Nobody wanted air-cooled stuff back then, and I couldn't take it with me. Internet wasn't a thing then either, no ebay or marketplace. I try not to think too much about what that stuff would be worth now😳

And if the 4 1ua wheels I have didn't have tyres on I'd have binned them too
These rules over what you can dump in landfill are ridiculous 🙈
Wasted and hour last night going though a good dozen half full tins of paint mixing cement into them as you can't put "wet" paint to landfill 😭

Think we’ve commiserated before as I did the same … but the burning and lingering regret I still hold are defo responsible for my current enthusiast ‘collecting’ habits 😂. On the value side though… it’s only because so much was thrown away, and only a portion survived, that values are as they are today. As for Steve … an Englishman dumping stuff is one thing…. But a Scotsman !!!…

I threw a load of LC clock outer cases today, all worse for wear. But theses can still be bought, so no real demand for a rough set. I then went on to spend many hours trying to plastic weld, cut and shut, and repair 4 sets of equivalent 31k kidney clock cases that were worse than the ones I chucked, but simply not available. Supply and demand I guess.

The local recycling centers round me will not take car/motorcycle parts . The man said they have to go to a specialist site but couldn’t tell me where one is 🙄

I did a big clearout of RD/RZ stuff about 7 or 8 years ago and it just went in the normal bin, but i wasnt chucking away anything good or big lol
I did chuck away 4 or 5 sets of engine cases and covers for MT250s a few years before that as no one wanted them. I should have weighed em in... some of the covers were magnesium... but the scrap value was on its knees back then. All were totally rubbish and unusable, but... in 2023 i bet people would fix em.

Steve you’ve got this all wrong. You advertise on here repairable tank foc to good home. Unfortunately I don’t have the time to invest in repair just cover postage. As soon as the advert goes live the lurking trader will pm you, obviously they won’t reply to the advert as they don’t want peeps to know what they are up to. You then send your crap to lurking trader who will be responsible for dumping it, cost you nowt and less time shlepping to the tip. LT gets stiffed it’s a win win.
