So over the summer I have sold all of my bikes, two Ducatis, one KTM and the LC was the last to go...
...I have had some interest, a couple of guys came to see it but made very low offers....
....so I have decided to keep the LC.

I don't think that's so bad? I kept my LC for many years and had no real use for it. Then, I decided for a couple of years to use it for commuting to work. It was easier to ride in traffic compared to my Ducati's as they were all sports bikes and also the performance of these bikes was wasted as sometimes I was lucky to get into third gear on a commute.
Given the fact that they were all 748/998 bikes the heat from the exhaust at times in the summer was unbelievable and did not make for comfortable riding. I found my LC to be a lot more flexible and I could trickle through traffic and just poodle along as necessary. The Ducati's, especially my 998, were very highly geared and to get below 20mph involved clutch slipping etc. Even gearing them down using quick-change sprocket carriers did help but they were most definitely not for commuting. Admittedly they were not designed for that as they are more of an open road machine.
I guess LC prices will always remain stable relatively speaking and in my case will be worth more than I paid for mine when it was new at under £1000 in 1982. Keep it and enjoy it, and it seems that in London at least it's free in the expanding ULEZ zone.
My LC running costs from a legal running point of view are under £100 per year as I only pay for insurance and nothing else apart from fuel and oil costs plus consumables like brake pads etc.

I wouldn't bother Marti 20mph most places, cameras everywhere, Uber drivers U turning in front of you, Uber Eats "L plate" riders U turning in front of you, pedestrians exersizing "their right of way" at every corner and walking out in front of you, road surfaces that look like the surface of the moon, t**ts on electric scooters playing "chicken" with you, Bus drivers who couldn't give a toss about anyone else on the road, etc etc. I guarantee you'll want to kill someone by the end of the day ( I do, but have refrained, so far !!)

I daren't listen to anything even remotely "pulse raising" in the van ! "Tranquil FM" will, just about, keep you sane. Bit off topic, so apologies, but talking of London driving/riding. Saved this on my dashcam from a week or 2 back. Feltham, West London, mid morning. The passenger has a house brick in his right hand. Rides through the red, obviously looking for someone to wrap it around; 230811_103336_983_FH by dusty miller, on Flickr The Uber riders ride like this all the time. How I dont see more wiped out I will never know

WTF? I take it this is the NHS job Dusty? Are you being paid danger money and do you have a Kevlar vest? Insane. Last time I drove through Feltham was about 15 years ago and I got stones thrown at my truck.

Yes Alex, the NHS job. 3 days a week, mostly West London, as far in as Stamford Brook/Hammersmith. Aside from the obvious loons, the general standard of driving is very poor. I dont even think a lot of the crazy stuff you see is deliberate - people just dont have a clue it would seem. The "Uber Eats" moped riders are constantly on their phones whilst riding, and if they pick up a job in the other direction, they will suddenly U turn in the road to go the other way. The Uber car drivers are the same. Had one slow down in front of me, and decide to do a 5 point turn on the brow of the railway bridge at Brentford, so he could go the other way !! Dont think he even considered the heavy traffic each way. I feel like an extra in a Mad Max movie most days, but without the pay !!

To put another point of view, London is crazy , but I find the countryside has a poorer standard of driver...
