I went down to PS Tuning a saw this Solex being fine tuned for a 24 hour Race. Whilst chatting to one of the team members i learned the following. One tank of fuel lasts roughly one hour. Once you get out of the bend you really have to lay the power down, this is done by peddle power. This racing vehicle is sponserd by Kevin Schwantz. After hearing about the peddle side of things i think i would have a team of racers aged 17, fed on a diet of pancakes with lots of strawberry jam washed down with Red Bull

Is this going to be on the telly? I'd love to see it.

No it's just an event in Holland. It's all part of a 3 day festival.

Ahh snorfietsen... In the 80s you'd see old guys riding them around the Dutch countryside, waving their fists as we whizzed by on our opgevoerde brommers. But, maybe not that one if its race tuned.

That's a nice bike. I rebuilt one of these for a friend of mine many years ago, they are really slow, it takes quite a lot of pedalling to get the bike even moving at a half decent pace.
You just drop the running engine on the tront wheel via a lever to start to get the thing moving and then pedal quite hard. I think very young teenagers could ride these in France at a young age many years ago.

I think its pretty mad that they have to pedal out of the corners, then the team has to do that for 24 hours. One member thought i was joking about Kevin Shwantz, he really is sponsoring this Solex.
I think they are aiming for a top speed of 50 km/h
