So I’m on the way to London on the train. Train stops at the next station. A pissed up, drugged up scrote gets on starts screaming at people. Everyone puts their heads down. He wanders through the carriage and starts to abuse people. A female member of staff tries to stop him so get up help her. He is now screaming and spitting at a mum and her young kids. I end up grabbing him and pulling him off the train, onto the platform into a door I get behind him arm up his back and finally get him into a ground pin. Half a dozen staff are standing around I tell them to help me and they respond we aren’t allowed to touch him. At that they blow the whistle to let the train leave. I tell them to f**king hold the train as it’s my train. Ffs. No one helped me not even train staff. Bloke obviously had mental health and drug problems. What is wrong with our society? One person came over afterwards to thank me. I also realised just how out of condition I am 😁

Country's gone to the dogs.
I can confirm train staff will not help, as advised not to buy employers.
In the end though, surely you'd make a judgement call if someone was in trouble, how could you with a conscious just stand idly by.

Know what you’re saying rigga o get that but at what cost, leaving some spiv to scare the shit out of kids and looking like he is going to launch himself at them. All the other passengers just sat there. Ffs some middle aged ex old bill gets stuck in and all the other younger fitter ones just sat there. Rant over just pissed me right off. I was surprised I was the only person to do the right thing.

I’m afraid that’s an every day occurrence now on the railway and yes staff would have no backup from any railway operating company. Btp would probably take 2 days to turn up, civil police probably wouldn’t turn up or say it’s on the railway nothing to do with us.
I hate to say it but drink, drugs and violence is 24/7 on the rail.

The current situation is only going to get worse until some of our politicians grow a backbone and actually make laws that protect innocent citizens instead of the criminals/scrotes. I worked the door for many years after leaving the forces and my final straw was being taken to court by the CPS for breaking the jaw and cheekbone of a drunk idiot I wouldn't let in a club at 10pm, he left after making a huge fuss and threatening to come back and sort me out. He did come back, driving a car, got out and started waving a 9mm Beretta pistol about but mainly at me. He was on the pavement, I was 3 steps up at the door, when he swung his arm away I launched at him, brought him down, secured the pistol and made it safe. Police arrived, put him in cuffs and took him away. Took my statement and left. 3 weeks later CPS agreed with his claims that I'd assaulted him even after reading my statement and I was charged with assault. Fortunately within 50 minutes of being in Crown court the judge having already read all the statements and seen footage of the incident called me to the stand, asked me why I'd done what I did. I explained, he dismissed the case. Moral to the story as far as I'm concerned is that the law is no longer on the side of normal law abiding people. The scrote was charged with threatening behaiviour, carrying a firearm and drink/drug driving. He did get 5 years for his trouble.

Whats wrong with our society? Easy liberal woktards. You may find yourself getting arrested for assaulting the unfortunate chap who obviously has "issues" Back in the olden days, you could have lumped the b*****d and switched his lights out temporarily, and when the police turned up they would have grinned at you and congratulated you on your spirited act of decency....... but now, you are very likely to find yourself in the nearest station answering questions....and possibly facing charges (they will be working on the "excessive force" thing without doubt) So....best not get involved and let the good times roll, turn the other cheek.
You could of been shanked..........by someone with multiple convictions, who's been released again after a wrist slap, to make even more folks lives a bit more miserable.
The system is a joke.
54 is middle aged. You should know better than to get involved.... you have a wife and kids.....

Thanks Steve yep you’re right . I know I probably shouldn’t have done anything and it did cross my mind about being tooled up, hence why I grabbed his wrists and used pressure points etc. I should know better. Yes I’m a dad and a husband and I’m no longer paid to do that kind of shit, esp without the tools of the trade. I await the knock on the door by uniform and they can f**k off. From a suitably chastised middle aged/old man 👍

Nothing surprises me anymore

54 that’s middle aged or am I now old? Don’t make my day worse 😁 My doctor told me middle age is 55 now What's a doctor? I used to have 6 monthly medicine reviews... and yearly cancer checks. Had none of the above since Jan 2020, which is strange because they threatened to remove all meds if I did not turn up for these checks. Sometimes I'd be a month late in making an appointment for them, (dont know if it's possible to make that kind of appointment anymore...have to ring in, in the mornings and sit on the phone till you get through. Which is f**k all use when you need to book time off work and give them notice of your absence, as turning up late at work, doc appointment or not is bad form.... 100k a year....................c**TS

Did you know; A Doctor can "earn" up to £100 for a 10 minute telephone consultation (depending on his/her seniority) They "earn" up to £50 for a face to face that should be a 20 minute slot. Doctors surgeries are run as a business, so up to £600 an hour for phone calls - quite possibly from home, or £150 an hour for face to face. They are still treating Covid as a reason not to see patients in person - everywhere else, including Hospitals, are carrying on like it never happened (no masks, no social distancing). I enter over 100 different Doctors surgeries, mainly in West London, in the course of my part time job. Probably half of them are virtually empty, just a couple of patients, regardless of time or day. There are plenty of excellent Gp's out there, but there are plenty that are using the fallout from Covid as an excuse to not see people. It will be interesting to see what happens in the next year or two - how many people develop conditions that may have been more treatable if it had been detected by a Doctor during a "face to face". I know a lot of people that just give up coz they cant get through on the phone

It is shocking. I used to have a blood test every three months for my polycythemia. Then 'Covid' happened and none for three years! Last one was about 18 months ago. A diabetic review every year...nope.
And well done Tim. I too would have done exactly the same thing, as would all of us I think, and also be very pissed off with the lack of any assistance.

You'd better think. You'd better think about the consequences of your actions.
Or maybe just a Coke.

Wow, big day Tim. The staff should be ashamed of themselves, you can let customers be treated like that by an individual. Did you actually make the train?
Sad to say I dont think I would have been as brave as you, Id have just seen too many risks. sigh. At least you know what youre doing even if out of touch with doing it daily.
The world has gone to pot, like Steve I also have been saying "people are dicks", cos 990% of the time thats what I see. Too many out for only themselves with no thought for others.
FWIW 'Middle Aged' I read is officially 50-65.

Jon in hindsight it was instinctive and very stupid. I’m no longer the 30 something I was. My wife and son weren’t best pleased especially my lad who told me in no uncertain terms what he thought. Would I do the same again ? No I’m not sure I would especially now I know you get no back up or support from staff or the public. Does that make me the same as the other passengers yes it does. Would I have allowed my lad to do it? Nope definitely not under no circumstance. As I say I’m too old for this.
