Not an RD related topic but has anyone used the sealing tape to seal spoked wheels to do away with the inner tubes ?
Is so how did it go and any particular brand etc ?

I've used the Muc Off and Outex sealing tapes on my crossers a few years ago, both worked well and didn't let me down.

Use a "Bolt In" valve, bolt it in after the liner tape is fitted. There are bolt in valves that have a larger backing cup to help with sealing, try a moto cross supplier, it's quite a common modification on crossers.

Would that be a legal mod for road use, if the wheel wasnt originally designed for tubeless tyres? Just wondering if it was a cause of an incident, god forebid, how the insurance and police would view it? JMHO

Does the wheel say its for tubeless tyres or not? That will answer any questions about poor mods and insurance. A bloke was sent to prison this week for killing a biker with poor DIY car maintenance, so expect more efforts to make sure people are held accountable for dodgy DIY. FYI if it says its not for tubeless its not just the spokes that are the issue, its also usually the shape of the rim - ie how the LC is. The report on the jailed car driver : www.bbc.com/news/articles/cd14r7zl39no <-- a total w**ker if ever there was one and deserves his jail term.
