Hi guys. What are you using to clean carbs that have been left unused for a few months ? I bought super plus from a ‘reputable supplier’ to start my wr.
Ran it up a few times in the shed and all seemed well. Ran the carb dry and drained it and it’s stood for approx 3 months due to cottage renovations. Why are the internals covered in a green vegetational filth ?
What are you using for ultrasonic cleaners ? Best suggestions please based on experience .
Thanks in advance.

You can get a specific cleaner if you use an ultrasonic cleaner. My bike stood for seven years outside but was covered up and upon rebuilding the whole bike I used carb. cleaner from Toolstation, unfortunately, they no longer stock it, that worked perfectly though.
The other day I bought some "Mechanic In Bottle" from eBay and that is what I am using. Similar to above you pour some in the tank and it cleans the fuel system. This is on sale in Toolstation but only in the small bottle size at £8.99, as it was then. The larger bottle via an eBay seller is a better value.

Thanks for that, I’ll have a look. I was also looking for recommendations for ultrasonic cleaners.

For me, it would be the biggest cleaner I could afford as it can then be used for all manner of parts. If it's just for carbs then a small stainless steel one should do the job of about a litre or so depending on its dimensions.

If its just one carb completely strip and clean manually it will take half an hour elbow use grease kitchen cleaner or brake cleaner and a tooth brush You will still need to strip it using an ultra sonic
