Hi all, just signed up. Have been reading the forum quite regularly for a while now. Hopefully buying an lc in the near future/winter.
Had many a 2 stroke back in my youth, starting with an ap50 then ar80. Brother had an lc80 which I did my 2 part test on.
Quick list after, x7, which I rebuilt in spare bedroom at mams, Didn’t mean to but coated frame went in there and then parts as they were cleaned and fettled got tried for size and before I knew it it was fairly complete, even started it up there just to see as you do. Had to take the microns and front wheel off and took four of us to get it downstairs !
Had a fairly mint blue 250e after that, managed to flatten both pipes at the bottom and the pegs were considerably shorter when that went.
Had 2 250 lc’s after that, first was fairly standard, second had been tuned by a chap I worked with when I was 16 and had short can microns on it. Loud and lairy would describe that one well,
Had been binned previously and had a black and gold Jps paint
job.
Swapped a yz250F for the next lc, a 350 with allspeeds, which was a gem really. Wish I still had that one but ran out of talent one evening and out braked myself into the back of a car. Broken leg for my sins.
Always had off roaders as well, kx’s and yz’s, mainly 125”s, odd 250 so always had something to play on.
Had a gamma 250, wolf 250 and rgv 250 later which were all good fun too. Wish I still had the gamma too.
As you can probably tell if you’ve read this far I was brought up
on two strokes and need another in my life.
Just had off roaders when the kids were young but got into bigger bikes when my good friend I’d road with most of my life on and off road bought an sp1 Honda which I foolishly had a quick blat on one Sunday afternoon. Awesome bike, had bought one two weeks later. Kept for 6 years or so, Sunday morning blasts up the coast and track days were very enjoyable. Saved all its Sunday best clothing in the loft and had track bodywork and rattle can satin black paint job, daytime test for 4years. Gone now, divorce.
Got a wr400 at the mo that I’ve been going through, hopefully on the road soon. Supermoto wheels are the plan, have some ktmrc390 wheels and tires to make fit, nearly there with them but have fit trail tires to standard wheels to get tested soon before the summers over. Will ride winter too, a bit of green laning.
Living in Suffolk now so if anyone local give me a shout.
Ride safe all
