The original nut holding the front sprocket didn’t have a cutout allowing for the splines to be recessed into it. Consequently the lock washer floated on the splines and eventually fell off - please be kind….I knew it didn’t seem right but went with it since that’s how it was when I got it. This is what it looks like now with a new washer and nut with a cutout. Does this look like the way it should be? Thinking about the amount of spline coming through the washer. It’s 530 chain by the way Any help is greatly appreciated.

That looks about right - the washer wont be flush with the ends of the splines, hence the recess in the nut. Dusty

just make sure you fit the cut out side to the washer and it'll work fine.
