Some of the bike photos on here are often in some nice gardens so I thought I would mention this threat. If you have any box trees, you've probably heard of box blight but there are now caterpillars which steadily destroy the plants too. I have a couple of small trees in pots and noticed they were looking brown and eaten in parts. The cause turned out to be caterpillars eating the leaves. I sorted them out being small tress but checked my two larger shaped specimens. One was covered, the other, the best is still fine. I perhaps could have saved the first but it was in an awkward spot so I dug it up. This is how it looked. The caterpillars look like this. I have ordered a product called Xen Tari from a company called Top Buxus on Amazon. It's used three times a year which is in line with the caterpillars appearances, it stops them eating the leaves and kills them but is harmless to other creatures. If you have box trees or hedges, check them over both on the outside and deeper inside. You can remove the caterpillars if you can manage it.

The 'Chinese box caterpillar' (no surprises there).
They're a bloody nuisance dc.
Lost a couple of box plants to them down here on the South Coast.
Chemicals keep them in check, but they also splat a satisfying lurid green if you don't mind picking them off by (gloved) hand and giving them a "you b*****d" squeeze.
