Hi all Ok cleaning a set of carbs on behalf of a friend 1979 RD250 F All now done including removing the brass ball trick But now would like to know what connects where please so when we install them I know what goes where The fuel feeds, float bowl overflows and oil feed connections are obvious but what please are the two other connections on the float bowls Are they just breathers for the air correction circuit or do they go to something else? And what connects to this white connector please? Also I guess the two brass connectors are for a choke link pipe? Also looking at some other pics on the web I guess we are missing a brass spigot for a breather too? Lastly please feel free to say if other connectors are missing as bike was in a collection of boxes (Note choke lever and slide stops yet to be fitted) Many thanks in advance Al

Float bowl spigots are for the tubes that go to the airbox ( feed the air correction cct.) Brass to brass is the choke. Not sure if you have a spirit missing - grey cells will be functioning better later , plus I can check..

The white connector has a hose going along with the float overflow hose.

I’ve never had an aircooled RD before, so forgive my ignorance; but where does the oil injection connect?
Does it go straight into the float bowl? Surely that’s not right?

No the carbs are fitted with the normal oil injector injector fitting What is different is the two float bowls have a connector that connect to the air box and this is the breather for the air correction jet unlike LC carbs where this air correction breather is built into the carb (I think) Best wishes Al

Hello, I know RD aircooled with two years of competition in 250cc... a few years ago. I would be you I would replace the metal valve blades with fiber or carbon and drill out the metal stops so the valves would open more freely.
