Talk about one step forward and 2 steps back. I bought a front master cylinder on eBay beautifully restored for £20 (thank you). just cleaning all of the others up and found that what I though was just a rough patch was a bleed nipple that had sheared off at the surface. Any good ideas on how to remove the remains from the calliper?

I believe Naich had the same problem getting sheared nipples out of his caliper. A quick search should find the relevant article and the proposed resolutions.

I have a massive problem with the search system in that if I enter something like "sheared bleed nipples" it finds one thread that is irrelevant. That applies to everything I've ever searched for. Are there any good guidelines.

i have had a good result getting a sheared bleed nipple out by tapping a flat screwdriver in the hole and just unscrewing it out.

I put 'bleed nipple' into the search and got 5 pages of threads, obviously not all are relevant, but you need to cast your net wide and then home in on ones that might be relevant. This one might be helpful rdlccrazy.proboards.com/thread/58639/brake-calliper-problem

Less is more with search.
eg. words like 'sheared' are possibly better off as 'shear', but as has been said above its better to just look for 'bleed nipple'. Play with it and you'll see. Also depending on what parts of the search you search with makes a difference too. You can also task google to search the forum for you as well. That may be better for those more conversant with using google search beyond simply typing in to the search bar.
IMHO Its worth mastering the search, asking questions that have been asked before (especially recently) becomes tedious to other posters and your 'experts' will lose interest in the question and also you may not get replies quickly (or at all) and yet just under the surface is all the answers you need are available instantly with only a search.

I will add to the above that on occasions I have searched for one thing, but seen something else in the search results that were relevant to another issue I may have, or something to check up on.
