I've posted on here a while ago about this, I gave up last year but while I still have a bit of time before the weather gets good enough to ride I thought I'd try again. I fitted later clocks on my Hybrid and used an electronic tacho, however I have never been able to make it work. the wiring is simple enough, I've checked it and double checked it and tried all the contacts, so now over the last 18 months I have bought 4 tachos, the latest one a couple of months ago, fitted yesterday and guess what! surely I cant be so unlucky that all 4 are duff Would anybody here be happy to test them if I send them to you? I know it's a ball ache having to disconnect one and connect the other so I full understand if nobody fancies the task. Don't ask, don't get they say. Thanks, Phil

Following on from this, I had a thought this morning that have I connected the correct "new" tacho, so I have gone through the 4 and no, I had obviously connected one of the old ones, so I know actually have a working tacho. So my next question is, how have you guys who have done this mod connected the new wire into the wire from the CDI? I dont fancy cutting the wire but what other options are there??
Thanks, Phil

Where in the country are you Phil? There might be someone nearby who could test your tacho.

Is it an lc2 loom or F1/N1 loom
I'm asking as the pv controller wiring is slightly different on each and you can also connect it there

Is it an lc2 loom or F1/N1 loom I'm asking as the pv controller wiring is slightly different on each and you can also connect it there Steve Its an LC2 loom Steve. 👍 I asked as the cdi connector plugs are more difficult to match/bugger around with If you look at the 3 way plug at the pv controller the black/yellow wire is in it Option 1 It is a simple 6.3mm spade in the block so can be removed by pressing on the little locating tab onthe terminal to let it pull out the plug The new terminals are readily available on ebay so you can cut the crimp off, attach a second wire to your tacho to the original wire then crimp onto a new terminal and slide back into the multiplug Option 2 If you don't want to interfere with the loom at all you can remove the spade then make a small loom to plug the removed spade into which would have 2 wires on a new connector to go In the original connector. Insulate the connection with self amalgamating tape Option 3 If you don't want to bugger around with connectors and crimps then find where you want to tap into the wire, strip back 10mm of the insulation with a knife, wrap the new wire around the bare wire, solder then tape up That way you aren't actually "cutting" the wire Steve
