Had a few carb issues lately, thought all was well until yesterday, when after about 10 miles, bike started spluttering and misfiring, especially on idle, then stopped. Would not start again until cooled down. RDs are a bit thirsty, and previous time I was out, I went on reserve and had to fuel up with E10. Wondering if this is the issue, or perhaps more crud in the carbs. What do you think guys? UPDATE# I have drained the tank of E10, was all running clear tho, so hope nowt in carbs. Replaced with E5, started fine, but it did before. I'll try for a longer ride and see how she performs. Cheers for advice thus far.

dirt in the tank (check the fuel tap filter) ? carburettor link pipe ? Have you put all the dismantled carburettors with the jets in the ultrasonic tank?
E10 seems a bad option, old rubbers don't like it.

IMO start with the simple stuff. Sounds like you’ve sucked some crud in when you went on reserve. So check carbs and pilot circuit especially. Fuel filter in tap? E10 once in a while will not cause that. I run my 350lc on E10 and it seems fine

I know it doesn’t directly help… but since you know the mechanics are basically fine, then essentially you can conclude the issues exist amongst the carburation and ignition systems… So sometimes easier to just work through the whole lot than to try and to stand back and pinpoint the root cause in isolation.

Don't rule out coils or condenser breaking down when hot
