Like a lot of us darn sarf I was getting very nervous about this crap coming into effect in August. I checked my Yaris the other day and yep, it's not exempt. However this evening I was on eBay checking prices on these cars out of curiosity and one seller had a 2003 model (same as mine) and said it's ULEZ free. Bollocks thought I and checked his reg number out. It IS exempt and now, for some bizarre reason, so is mine!
P'raps it's worth going back and re-checking your cars.

I've got a 2001 Mk5 Fiesta as my daily driver and it's ULEZ exempt.
So just shows some older cars should be ok, just need to check the NOx level on your V5.
You can't always believe TFL's checker though, despite my CB900F being Historic and TFL confirming to me it is exempt it still says on the checker that I have to pay the charge, oh, and the Congestion Charge by the way......bunch of clowns!😡

It says on the tfl website I’ve got to pay ULEZ and cc. I just ignore what the checker says and often go into the zone and have yet to receive a ticket 👍🏻

I saw a list on one of the Biker sites, and one of the bikes on the ULEZ exempt list is the Yamaha RDLC 350. (inc YPVs). Technically the exhaust smokefrom a two stroke is visible, but less dangerous than the invisible pollutants and particulates than from four stroke motors.

From what I've read, I think you either need the manufacturer to issue a letter saying the make, model, year is compliant. Or you need to get the individual vehicle tested to show that it's compliant. In the case of the RD350 I believe it's the individual bike test that's needed.

Think unless someone actually puts a specific older vehicle in for testing it will show as non compliant
Dusty, you need to do 1 of 2 things
1) drive your van to Scotland to punt it as value won't be affected up here
2) stick the RD number plate on it 😉🤣

They (tfl) seem determined to make it difficult for people. If for example I got my 91 zzr1100 tested and confirmed on the tfl database as compliant. Jon Smith down the road with the same model still will have to pay. Unless he gets his vehicle tested. All so unfair and rigged to generate cash.

A mate in Newcastle area told me that he ran some reg plates on cars in Autotrader and most failed the checker, the one he liked the idea of that worked was a TVR Sagaris... more WTF...

I've already cloned Alex's numberplate and fitted them. Should be good for ULEZ,but he may have a couple of speeding tickets heading his way 🤣🤣

It's an absolute farce Dusty's rarely used van will cost £12.50 a day but next year this kind of thing will be classic and compliant www.ebay.co.uk/itm/234584733792Steve

It IS a farce Steve. 4 councils including Surrey are refusing to allow any ULEZ cameras etc and are going to take that git to court. At my local coffee shop today the owner, who has a lovely BMW, was leaving in a 2003 plate Renault Crapola. I asked why he had that and he had to sell the Beemer as it wasn't compliant, but the pile of shite French car is.
