That is a standard RS250, they never made a diesel 2T and if they did you wouldn't put expansion chambers on them. 2T diesels are grossly inefficient at less than ship size.

i think 10K is pushing it If you put diesel in it, you probably would end up pushing it. I'd guess that the person posting it got confused between 2 stroke and diesel?

I went to see The Diesel Jeans World Superbike races at Donnington in about 1990 ish. It could have been The Diesel Superbikes World Jeans Championships I suppose. My memory is a bit fuzzy these days. I think Foggy won on a privately entered Massey Ferguson 888 and the rest is history I think they say.

Your memory is indeed fuzzy, Roche was flying on a 888 JCB

The Napier Deltic's make an awesome sound when starting up. Loads of clips on YouTube of that.
Never heard of the Jumo Diesel - very interesting.

I used to look after a Deltic, we had one as a generator engine. It was ex-British Rail, and we were supposed to hand crank the oil pump until the gauge moved, before doing a test run. Obviously we didn't bother. One set of main bearings later, we were supplied with an electric oil pump.

Dubious link I know but hey My Father in Law was a marine Chief Engineer and until I met him 44yrs ago I never knew 2T diesel's even existed. Turned out in the big ship's world they're a common engine choice, here's a brief "why"

Turned out in the big ship's world they're a common engine choice, here's a brief "why" Things have changed a little bit now. A few companies are actually making their engines smaller by reducing the diameter of the piston.
