When I raced lc's back in't day, there was mucho debate about the merits of fork braces. So i took mine off, and never noticed a blind bit of difference.

Norbo still does the micron type for £160. As you say possibly questionable performance upgrade but the micron types look good. That as Steve says is the motorcycle equivalent that a vajazzle. That needs to be the new phrase for useless trinkets.

Out of interest, do fork braces for the LC2 also fit the F2? As for the one posted above, there's nothing wrong with a bit of bling.

Serious question how does a fork brace reduce tyre wear? As stated in this advert.

Serious question how does a fork brace reduce tyre wear? As stated in this advert. Cause you'll be riding it less. When the ladies see your blingy fork brace their knickers lose their elastic and drop off for you Steve

LC2 and later wear their front tyres more than an LC anyway, as they are on the ground all the time 😂
Back in the day a mate fitted a fork brace to his LC2 and riding it back to back with my LC2, I couldn't determine any difference. So I spent my money on a steering damper instead, which made a noticeable difference. But if you like the look, then go for it.

Hi, the whole point of a fork brace is to try and prevent the forks twisting when heavy braking into a bend. In this situation without a brace the bike would want to sit up and you'd run out wide, the brace helped to prevent this and you could take a tighter line. On the road I wouldn't expect to show much of a difference as we don't tend to push as hard, well I don't. I think you will find that fork twisting is what drove the change to upside forks and bigger wheel spindles particularly on performance machines.

If you like the look of them as i do fit tghem but the flex is below the bottom yolk not down above the muddy . I still fit them for the same reason i polish the alloy and chrome parts they look nice

Have to say that fork braces aren't to reduce fore and aft flex but to reduce walking. Basically to reduce the front wheel flapping side to side under acceleration , braking and cornering and keep it pointing where you want to be going. They need to have a substantial enough clamping area to reduce twist as much as possible so those that use all the depth of alloy where the dust cap normally sits are best. Ideally you would have built in brace to make both fork sliders a single assembly such as that are found on most mountain bike forks for the same reason . The noticable benefits are likely directly proportionate to how hard you ride
