Keep the pics coming 👍 Nice Fazer btw 🙂 Fazer is my commuter. Truth be told, I could sell all the others and just have this. Fantastic bike. Handles great, fast enough and it’s averaging a true 73mpg !

Plucked up the courage to start the wheels tonight. The tyres aren’t date marked so pre 2000, hard as plastic. Bent my heavy duty tyre levers and all the wife’s best spoons but no way could we get them off. Resorted to violence in the end.....

Ive had to do the same here quite a few times now with old wheels Ive bought with tyres still fitted.
Only good thing is that at least they fit in a normal house wheelie bin when youve cut them, whereas here they wouldnt normally take a tyre away you can sneak em in the rubbish lol

Still very busy at work and family issues at home so my RD250 project keeps getting left behind. I had my pal Steve Ballantyne (Steve’s Vapour Blasting Services) clean up the wheels which gave me the encouragement I needed to continue. Masked them up on Sunday, primed them and put them in the boiler cupboard for 24 hours. Monday night I set up a ‘spray booth’ in the garage and set to with the Simoniz tough satin black then back in the cupboard again. De-masked them last night and am more than impressed with my handiwork!!

I reckon the key to doing these is the green line tape you used Bill, it makes the job so much simpler than normal tape. good work!

I reckon the key to doing these is the green line tape you used Bill, it makes the job so much simpler than normal tape. good work! I bought some narrow masking tape (more plasticky than the paper type) for doing my wheels from the paint suppliers but I found it didn't stick very well even though the wheels were spotlessly clean. I gave up with it and went back to the paper type.

In fact, I struggled to pick it off the spokes with my fingernails 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️

I use a similar product. 3M fine line blue masking tape. It's very bendy so it's great for round things (or flames on custom cars). Pretty cheap too on eBay.

wheels look great - I still wake up from nightmares thinking about cleaning/masking wheels - never doing it myself again - you done a great job on these - and an amazing transformation on this bike from where it started -

Now I know that we are all different, but the LC italic wheels just really do it for me. I remember gazing at them when I had my fs1e at 16 wishing I had one.
