Picked up this little gem yesterday. 6 hours round trip into the desert to the desolate Twenty nine palms Marine corps air command. So its a 2016 xsr with some nice add ons, Two Brothers exhaust, Ohlins shock, motodemic headlight, spiegler brake lines . Some of the not so good , A truly awful tail tidy , Woodcraft clip on bars and heated grips ! In California? Its been well maintained the previous owner being an Airframe/powerplant mechanic in the USMC kept meticulous records of all the work done to it. First job is to clean all the desert sand off Then change the bars for some renthals. Making room in the garage for it its sitting next to my LC thats a long term rebuild.

Heated grips? Yeah heated grips ,now it does get cold in winter out in the desert but thicker gloves usually take care of that!

Fun bikes and good luck keeping the front wheel on the ground! 🤣 Thanks Geoff , Will try to keep it on 2 wheels however in A mode with the traction control off that's easier said than done ! Hope you enjoyed the pictures of the dead straight desert highway Know why murican roads are all straight? It's so harley riders don't have to get off and push them around corners!

Loving the photos of the desert. A lot of the roads in central Spain reminded me of US desert roads from films. We were close to where the Spaghetti Westerns were filmed. My VFR800 had heated grips on when I bought it. I had to take them off. They were really hard and smooth and slightly bigger than the original ones. It made it hard to use the throttle and made my forearm ache. The throttle side even started to come loose and turn. It's cold in the North of England for about six months of the year but not riding the bike sorts that out 😂

Been busy with my new ride. Swapped out the silver tank covers for red . Changed the woodcraft clip ons for Rizoma low rise Im not 21 anymore and my back and neck are thanking me. Put the rear fender on minus the mudgaurd firstly with the stock tail light didnt like the look went with the TST industries tail light under the fender i think ot lools pretty clean also tst turn signals back and front cheap and cheeful untill i find something better. A wemoto grab bar mainly for the lady of the house and finally had to put a db killer in the two brothers exhaust and its still loud......

Thanks Jon It feels like it's coming together a few new parts and a good clean. The best investment so far was yesterday Dave Moss (Dave Moss Tuning) was at a local dealer had him set up the suspension nothing that can be seen but you can feel the difference, the previous owner was half my age and weight needless to say it's all good now dialed in and done. Now I can get back to my original winter project the 350 LC sitting on the shelves in my garage
