Ive got 2 F2 projects and I think both of them have taken a hit at the back when they went down (all our bikes seem to have had >1 life lol).
This means the seat subframes look off to one side and potentially one side is higher up and one side might be lower.
So I was wondering if anyone had ever measured these frames and could offer any useful guidelines for straightening?

Have you got anyone nearby with Touchbike Electronic Frame Measurement and Motoliner Frame Jig facility or similar?
I had my 4L1 frame checked earlier this year, luckily was within tolerance but the measuring only took half hour or so. I had to build the frame up as rolling chassis and drop in the engine cases.
They measure a number of known points around the frame and it goes into a 3D model and compares against known measurements for different frames etc. I think they have a large database of different frame types and measurements.
If its out of line they use the jigs to straighten, then remeasure after.

No sadly i dont know anyone with that kit here in Aus and I only know of one frame guy locally and he's expensive for is only a bit of a tweak to one side I think on both, I just would like some idea of where the rails are meant to be and I can work it out from there, mine might even be fine and its just my eye thats out etc.

The seat subframe on my 31k has always been noticeably offset to one side (the left). The rear light was very obviously not central to the tyre by about 20mm. The bike has obviously been dropped in the past, scuffed levers and engine cases attest to that, but there is no evidence whatsoever of the subframe being hit, no dents, bent brackets, scuffs or even scratches to the paint. I just assumed that it was badly built and not much consideration was given to the subframe since it is not critical.
I straightened it using some steel lintels and a trolley jack.

Hello Jon, on the last page of this file (which is on my website) rd350lc.net/CaracteristicasTecnicasRD350.PDF there is the 31K frame drawing with few dimensions and I think that they are the same on F2 frame. It's a Spanish document from YAMAHA for N and N2... Hope it helps Xavier
